Vleeshal Center for Contemporary Art is a museum located in the former town hall on the market square of Middelburg, Netherlands. In 2017, Dorothee was assigned to do the design for three exhibitions. The overall identity of the place was developed by Jungmyung Lee in 2016, the logo is a big letter V.

This identity allows the designer a lot of freedom to create a specific design for each exhibition.

Show Personality Not Personal Items was a group exhibition, showcasing works by Leda Bourgose, Nora Turato and Evelyn Taocheng Wang. Throughout the printed matter, the tension of the personal becoming public was being played out. (Hence the see-through envelopes for the invitations.)

Traumatized Lemon was an exhibition by Andrea Éva Győri. The exhibition was about the artist’s loss of gravity due to the loss of her breasts. For the design the artist’s drawings were used, and mono-colored, while the type was arranged so that it appeared as if it was affected by gravity.

For the exhibition Paranoid House, a group exhibition with Anders Dickson, Philipp Gufler, Henna Hyvärinen, Becket Mingwen and Sophie Serber, a font was chosen that was drawn by Kaj. Because of its extreme slant it fit well with the exhibition title.
