For the catalog of the 2025 exhibition Knit and Weave at Schloss Hollenegg for Design, we explored the idea that books, like textiles, are sewn. This connection between bookmaking and textile craft became central to the design concept.

The stitching that binds the book is intentionally left visible—transforming a usually hidden detail into a defining visual and structural element. Rather than simply holding the pages together, the exposed thread becomes the basis for the publication’s grid system. Texts and images are placed in relation to this thread, creating the impression that they are sewn into the book at the points where the binding is revealed.
