The 26th issue of zweikommasieben magazine reflects on the theme of precarity. We, as graphic designers, have been dealing with this issue and asking ourselves about the relevance and usefulness of a printed magazine. Is it still ethically justifiable to produce magazines? And if so, under what conditions?
After the Corona pandemic, the resource paper has become scarce due to the high demand for cardboard by the shipping industry, and the price of paper has risen accordingly.
We designed the magazine to fit exactly on only two printed sheets. Together with the printer, we have coordinated it in such a way that only 2mm is cut off all around after the sheets have been gathered and folded. This way, the white space that is normally cut off in the industry is used as a design element.
